Cycling rest day

After saying our goodbyes and thanks to the Pitot's for having us, we had to bid farewell to Erick. It was wonderful having Erick join us for the first leg. He made an excellent support team and kept Mom company. We made our way to Arusha in search of a bicycle bag for my bike to sadly go back to SA. Arusha was surprisingly bigger and busier, a typical African city. We also stocked up on groceries and had burgers for lunch. We then drove towards our next stop, Migombani Camp near Lake Manyara. Despite the rainy weather, the drive is stunning. Just in front of us we could see massive gorges creeping out from behind the clouds, with the lake on our left.

It took us some time to find Migombani Camp as the sign wasnt well marked but eventually we found the turn off and climbed up the mountain and arrived to this panoramic amphitheatre overlooking Lake Manyara. Exquisit baobabs stood tall on soft lush green grass, with an infinity pool flowing over the cliff. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were emaculate. Defintitely the best appointed camping spot. The air still cool from the rain, we unpacked and set up camp. We watched the rain falling down over the lake with a nice cold savanah. Again, mom cooked up an amazing meal for champions and ended the evening with Amarula and laughing at all the funny incidences and comments that happened during the last week. We laughed late into the evening before the rain came and we scrambled into our tents to keep dry.
