After a good 7 hours of sleep, we hit the road, once again. However, only 270 km to go today. Apart of us wanting to drive through to Arusha was so that we could do less today and get to Nairobi in good time. We woke up to an overcast drizzly day but yet, a very smiley, happy Innocent. He was so desperate to find out about our trip and what we doing and where we came from. He says his passion is traveling and he wants tourists to have the best time when coming to Tanzania, thats why hes so good to his guests. With such short notice of our arrival last night, he apologized for not having breakfast for us, which he said he normally organizes for his guests. We are safe and had a good sleep, so we were not complaining. As we exited Arusha, the clouds disappeared and the sun tried coming out. We saw Kilimanjaro!! It wasnt long before the clouds made their way covering the top. Seeing Kili really lifted our spirits, making us more excited for when we cycle past in a few weeks.

We got to Namanga Border Post at 10 am to another large, clean building, a big contrast to the rest of the country. We fitted into a fairly short queue and stamping our passports was easy. Until we got to clearing our vehicle and trailer...after having gone through three different offices, two officials searching the car and trailer, 2:45 hrs later we got the necessary documents stamped and cleared and into Kenya we were!! 120 km to Nairobi to go!!

Finally, 4 pm we got to Bruce, a fellow Rhodent who now lives in Nairobi was so willing to host us and greeted us with open arms and cold beers. He lives in Karen, a suburb of Nairobi, in a garden cottage on a beautiful one acre property. The property has three houses all hidden by perfectly trimmed hedges and beautiful creepers on the outside. After lots of reminiscing and laughing about old Rhodes stories, we had a good shower and got ready to explore the Nairobi nightlife. Bruce took us to Talisman, an upmarket restaurant where he treated us to dinner. The best samosas we have ever had - cream cheese stuffed with coriander, and this was just a starter. We ate as if we'd never seen food before. And we havent even started cycling yet - imagine what we'll be like getting to civilisation after the cycling *laughing-emoji-with-tears* We also got to meet Bruce's collegues who are full of banter and enjoy a few drinks - Bruce fits right in!

Nairobi is a very vibrant, multi-cultural, busy city. The UN headquarters is based here and has one of the biggest US embassy in Africa. With this, Nairobi is also on the top five list of worst traffic and one of the biggest slums in the world, at the same its very westernized with lots of global food chains and large malls and bank buildings. Its been so interesting getting to experience and learn all these things about such different places. After an excellent treat of a meal and a few drinks, we made our way home and had a good nights sleep.
